In some cases people seek counselling because they have been through a crisis but others come because they are unhappy and worried and don’t understand why. Sometimes its hard to talk to those closest and this can lead to feelings of isolation. Counselling offers an opportunity to explore thoughts and feelings and to find a way to move forward in life.
I work as an Integrative counsellor which means that I can draw upon a number of different approaches and techniques, depending upon your needs, and develop a treatment plan that is tailored to you personally. We then work together and regularly review the plan to ensure it remains relevant. There is no given timescale, it depends on your needs but we will regularly review the need for ongoing sessions.
The following are examples of the types of approach that might be used:
Person Centred therapy
Cognitive and Behavioural therapies (CBT & REBT)
